DokuFest, the International Documentary and Short Film Festival, stands as Kosova’s largest film festival. Every year, this cinematic celebration transforms the historic center of Prizren, filling cinemas and unique screening venues with a curated selection of over 200 films from across the globe. Founded in 2002, DokuFest aimed to breathe new life into cinema and enhance Prizren’s cultural scene. Since then, it has grown into a prestigious event, recognized as the premier documentary and short film festival in Southeast Europe. Notably, it achieved BAFTA qualifying status for short films in 2019 and became a nominating festival for the European Film Academy in 2022. Spanning nine dynamic days, DokuFest offers an array of engaging activities, from documentary photo exhibitions and thought-provoking debates to enlightening master classes and lively music performances. Through its diverse and immersive program, DokuFest celebrates filmmaking artistry while nurturing dialogue and appreciation for cinema throughout the region.
