Etno Fest traces its origins back to 2009 when the film “Gomarët e Kufirit” was being shot in the village of Kukaj, a remote village with only three households. Following the conclusion of filming, actor Bislim Muçaj, captivated by the enchanting scenery of this abandoned village, purchased a run-down house. In 2010, he transformed the old stable into Kosova’s first Ethno Theater. In 2011, this vision materialised into the grand cultural event Etno Fest, celebrating traditional arts and culture. Since then, it has emerged as one of Kosova’s most significant festivals, providing an authentic platform for discussions, book launches, ethno performances, exhibitions, and theatrical productions, all seamlessly integrated into the festival’s vibrant atmosphere.
